We all know that every 5th of September is celebrated as teacher’s day in India. We celebrate it in the honour of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who became great teacher and 2nd former president of India. Teacher’s day is celebrated since 1962 in India as symbol of tribute to teachers for their contribution in educational field. Childrens are tommorow’s future,hence they need to be positively nurtured and that is done beat by teachers as childrens get inspired by them. Students all across the country observe this day to pay respect to their teachers. It is truly said that teachers are like back bone of our society. They play a great role in building up the characters of students and shape them to become an ideal citizen of India.

On this day students thank their teachers for showing them right path of their life. Various cultural programs and activities take place in schools and colleges. Students dress up as teachers for one day on 5th of September and give out lectures to the students. By this activity students realize how it feels to be a teacher. Most of the students offer gifts,greeting cards,flowers,chocolates,books etc. to their teachers on this special day.
This is the way of celebration of teachers day. On this day every student make an effort to thank his teacher by some or the other way. We know that most of us will end up with no more than 5 or 6 people who will remember us,but teachers have thousands of people who remember them for the rest of their lives.
